MAJOR WORKS 

GRWM is a series of 4 paintings that explores the idea of“beauty is pain” but amplified to exhibit a grotesque side to it. There is arepetitive aspect to all of these, doing makeup, shaving, trying to lose weightand wearing painful footwear that women continue to do to present themselves ina certain manner to society. I used a limited colourscheme of pink, orange,purple and black to unify all the paintings together while also using red ineach piece to communicate the discomfort. Each piece is also done as a close-upon the body part being wounded to further enhance the persistent pain inflictedupon it. The limited colours also help move the eye from focal point to focalpoint. This series prods at the continuous beauty standards that women mustupkeep, and it is crucial to take a step back and look at the damage done tofemale bodies.
